10 tricks that you may not know about WhatsApp
10 tricks that you may not know about WhatsApp
WhatsApp was bought by Facebook for US$19,000 million. With more than 900 million active users, WhatsApp is the most popular instant messaging mobile application in the world and Latin America is one of its main markets.
So far, your customers had to pay a dollar after the first year of use.
But this Monday the company announced that the application will stop being paid in the coming weeks.
“The purchase (of WhatsApp by Facebook in 2014) allowed us to focus on growing and not think more about making money,” said Jan Koum, co-founder of WhatsApp, who explained that the subscription method “has not worked all right”.
Now, many use WhatsApp on a daily basis: they chat, send voice and audio messages and, increasingly, share photos. But maybe they are missing something that can improve the experience.
Here they have 10 tools or facets or tricks that probably did not know about WhatsApp.
(You will find some words in English, because WhatsApp does not have a Spanish version).
1. Do not let them know if you read the WhatsApp messages on the Samsung
Unselect this part and nobody will know if you read the messages. In November, WhatsApp launched the double blue tick, which indicates that the recipient of the message read the text sent.
Many are not very happy with the new technology.
For Android users it’s easy: you have to download the Beta version of the application and go to Settings> Account> Privacy and deselect the option “Read Receipts”, which in Spanish translates “reading confirmations”.
For iPhone it is more complicated.
First you have to do a jailbreak, a process that allows access to the operating system and download things that are not in the App Store.
Then, you have to download an application, “WhatsApp receipt disabler by BigBoss”, which allows you to deactivate the famous and controversial blue tics.
Bonus: when the option is activated, one can know the time in which the recipient read the message, by pressing the message and moving the finger to the right.
2. Send files in other formats WhatsApp on Iphone
WhatsApp is the most popular instant messaging service in the world. It is known that WhatsApp only allows to send photos, audio and video.
But with applications like Cloud Send on Android or MP3 Music Downloader on iPhone you can also send PDFs, APKs or Word documents.
3. Block your WhatsApp
Although cell phones have a key to block them, for some it’s not enough.
So applications like WhatsApp Lock allow you to install a key.
4. Have notifications on your computer
Applications such as Notifyr on iPhone and Desktop Notifications on Android allow you to see the notifications that arrive on your cell phone on your Mac or PC.
Usually it is necessary to install the application in the cell phone and the extension in the search engine that you use in the computer.
5. Install WhatsApp messages on your Android tablet
WhatsApp does not want you to download the application on a tablet, but there is an option.
On the tablet, you must download the latest version of WhatsApp, in the .apk format, which can be found on the WhatsApp website, the desktop version.
You should also download SRT AppGuard, an application that shields the tablet from being recognized as a, well, tablet.
In SRT AppGuard, select WhatsApp and press Monitor, which allows that application to do a review of WhatsApp.
When the monitoring ends, go down and deactivate “read phone status” and “identity under Phone calls”.
Then you have to activate WhatsApp using your local phone line to be called and give you the verification code of three numbers. **** You enter it in WhatsApp and it was.
6.Do not let them know when you connected WhatsApp on Iphone
In case you do not like them to know if you got into WhatsApp. Another trick to have more privacy: under the name in the chat, WhatsApp puts a phrase that says what time was the last time you entered the application.
To avoid this, go to Settings> Account> Privacy> Last Seen.
There are three options: Everyone (all), My contacts (my contacts), Nobody (nobody).
Choose.
7. Recover deleted conversations
Maybe you deleted it by accident. Or you repented.
Sometimes the cell phone can save the conversation in its memory.
But if you uninstall and reinstall WhatsApp, at a moment you ask if you want to restore message history. **** Say yes and you’ll have them back.
8. Prevent the photos and videos from being downloaded automatically WhatsApp on Iphone
If you turn off all of these, your photos and videos will no longer be automatically downloaded. One of the reasons why more data is spent, and that one has to buy more, is that the photos and videos that arrive on WhatsApp are downloaded on their own. And many of them one does not want to see them.
To avoid this there is an easy trick: Settings> Chat settings> Media auto-download.
There they ask you if you want them to download only when you are connected to wifi or never or always.
Choose.
9. See your statistics on WhatsApp
It is a curious fact: the number of messages you have received and sent.
But it is also useful: if you reset the statistics, you can know how much you have spent in a certain time, something that helps save the internet.
It’s simple: Settings> Account> Network Usage.
10. Hide one image over another
Yes, there are applications that allow you to send two photos in one.
An image arrives and, once the sender clicks on it, the other one is seen. Magiapp on Android and FhumbApp on iPhone allow to do this.
